Alexander Drozdiak, age 91, of White Oak, PA, died on Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born in Shamokin, PA on October 11, 1931 and was the son of the late Alexander J. and Anna Danchak Drozdiak and the husband of the late Dorothy E. Dolf Drozdiak, who died on November 1, 2012. Alexander earned a bachelor’s degree from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and later retired as an engineer for General Motors Fisher Body. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Alexander enjoyed singing in the choir and cantoring at various churches throughout the area.
He is survived by his children, Celia McCoy of White Oak, PA; Dr. Russell (Kathleen) Drozdiak of Indiana, PA; Steven J. Drozdiak of Royal Tunbridge Wells, England; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, Alexander was preceded in death by his siblings, Walter (the late Stephanie) Drozdiak; Myron Drozdiak; Irene (the late Ed) Hurst; Mary (the late Theodore) Trujillo; Olga (the late Michael) Yonkovig; and Louise (the late Jacob) Tkachyk, Jr.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Avenue, White Oak, PA 15131. Burial will follow.
