Bonnie Jean Shaffer

Bonnie Jean Shaffer, age 81, of McKeesport, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was born in McKeesport on April 26, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Lako Spalla. She was a member of the former St. Peter’s Church in McKeesport. She was very artistic and had a beautiful voice. She sang in the church choir as a young woman.

She is survived by sons, Ronald R. (Victoria L. Spencer) of McKeesport; Brian Shaffer of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Donna Barnes of North Versailles; nephews, Keith (Nikki) Barnes of New Kensington; Jason (Catherine) Barnes of Reston, VA; and Eric (Diana) Barnes of Arlington, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Ken Yates.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Entombment will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
