Daniel Joseph Paradise, age 73, of Elizabeth Township, died on January 18, 2021 in Pittsburgh with his wife and sister by his side. Born in McKeesport on April 17, 1947, he is the son of the late Peter and Anna Charok Paradise, and the husband of Melanie Pollack Paradise. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from the US Postal Service as the Postmaster in Webster PA. Known to many of his friends as Uncle Dan, he was a member of the Castaway Yacht club where he was an avid boater on the Yough Lake. He was a board member and Sargent at Arms at the White Oak American Legion, Post 701. He enjoyed shooting pool and singing karaoke with his buddies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sister, Nadine Paradise Campbell of Jefferson Hills, brother-in-law, Wayne Doyle of Irwin and nieces, Heather Doyle and Carrie Doyle Yanez, and grand nieces, and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Paradise Doyle, and brother-in-law, Dean James Campbell.
A gathering will take place at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. when services will take place.
A celebration of life will be announced for a later date.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Dan’s name may be sent to Homeless Veterans in care of White Oak American Legion Post 701, 2813 Capitol St., White Oak, PA 15131.
