George Boros, age 86, of McKeesport died Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born in Braddock on February 3, 1932 and is the son of the late Andrew and Marie Matta Boros. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie Kopolovich Boros. George served in the Army during the Koreanwar. He was employed at Mesta Machine in Homestead and then at Thermal Industries in Murrysville. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels in McKeesport, he loved listening and dancing to Polka music; in fact, everyone wanted to “dance the Polka with Uncle George.” He had a kind smile that made you smile and everyone enjoyed spending time with him. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Marie (Garon Whalen) Boros of McKeesport; special nieces & nephews; his furry companions, Baxter the dog and Calli the cat; and many very close and special friends; also, Debbie Yurick from Comfort Keepers, who came every Tuesday and Thursday to go out with George. He is preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Andrew, Joseph, John and Charles; and sisters, Helen Simon and Margaret Matta. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 29th from 4-6 pm and on Friday, March 30th from 4-8 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177). A funeral blessing service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10 am at Christ the Light of the World Church, 32 S. 1st St, Duquesne, PA 15110, with Rev. Thomas J. Lewandowski officiating.
