Harry "Randy" Drye

Harry "Randy" Drye, age 70 of Citrus County, Florida passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021 while at home with his cherished wife Dianne Lisa Drye at his side. He is survived by daughter Tracy (Brian) Dixon of North Carolina, sister Linda (Glenn) Raymer of North Huntingdon Pennsylvania, brother Edward Bruce (Sammi) Drye of Wild Wood Florida, sister Patti Cimba of McKeesport Pennsylvania, grandchildren Cody and Leigha, nieces and nephews. Born July 8, 1951 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the late Harry Tilbrook Drye and Rosaline (Carter) Drye. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1969. Randy was a respected 27 year Firefighter for the City of McKeesport. Randy lived his life with dedication, courage and honor. He was a driver, hoseman and Deputy Fire Chief. He served as liaison to the Civil Service Commission for the interviewing of firefighting candidates for the city. He was a former President of Local #10 IAFF and former Trustee for the International Association of Firefighters. He was trained in arson detection, hazardous materials, vehicle extrication, first aid and CPR, positive pressure ventilation techniques, lethal weapons, also taught and attended various seminars throughout his career. He was a security officer for UPMC, McKeesport Housing Authority and Zayre's Department store. He was a State Constable for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He worked as a driver for Pennsylvania Coach Lines, umpire for the McKeesport Athletic League and was a member in good standing with the American Legion and several volunteer organizations. He still loved wearing his McKeesport Tigers sweatshirts. Randy and his wife Dianne moved to Florida in 2009. Both enjoyed the retired life of fun in the sun, surf and sand. They were never seen without each other holding hands, loving nothing more than spending their leisurely time fishing, boating, swimming and dancing. Their favorite song to dance to was “Our Love” by Natalie Cole. Friends have been quoted as stating: "Randy lived everyday to make his wife Dianne smile".
There will be a celebration at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). The date of the celebration will be posted once scheduled.
