Helen Bogden, age 98, of McKeesport, died on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born in Hostetter, PA on May 22, 1922 and is the daughter of the late John and Mary Pavlock Godula, and the wife of the late John B. Bogden. She worked as a salesclerk for the former Gimbel’s Department Store at Eastland Mall. Helen truly enjoyed fashion, flower gardening, and cooking and was well known for her stuffed cabbage. She was most proud of her Slovak heritage.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence Bogden of McKeesport. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Bogden, brothers; Joseph, Michael, John, and Steven Godula, sisters; Irene Monezis and Margaret Slafka.
A family gathering took place yesterday at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.
