Helen M. Thomas

Helen M. Thomas, age 92, of McKeesport, died on Monday, August 22, 2022. She was born in Wilson, PA on May 12, 1930 and is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Dzurbala Sabo and the wife of the late Leonard M. Thomas, Sr., who died on May 13, 1990. After raising her children, she was employed as a waitress at various country clubs and also was a ticket saleswoman for Kennywood.

She is survived by sons, Deacon Leonard (Georgia) Thomas, Jr. of Houston, PA; Steven (Theresa) Thomas of Irwin; William (Michelle) Thomas of Carrollton TX; Edward (Janet) Thomas of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Steven; Zachary; Leonard Michael “Gabe” III; Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (the late Sharon) Sabo of Elizabeth; and sister, Josephine “Josie” (the late Claud) Lafon of South Park.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo Dirle.

Only family will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Thursday, August 25, 2022 with a blessing service held by her son, Deacon Leonard. Entombment will follow.
