Irene B. Shiflet

Irene B. Shiflet, age 98, of McKeesport, died on Monday, March 6, 2023. She was born in McKeesport on July 27, 1924 and is the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Santa Barnocki and the wife of the late Samuel P. Shiflet, who died on March 15, 2002. She retired as a staff accountant from US Steel. She was a member of the former St. Pius V Church now Mary, Mother of God Parish. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, including Christine Nietrzeba, John Loomis, and Dakota Loomis. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her siblings, Emma, Richard, Michael, Mary, Betty, and Bobby. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132. Entombment will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
