Kathleen “Kathi” Ann (Swalwell) Vamosi, age 74, of Port Vue, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born June 12, 1948, in McKeesport. She is survived by Alex “Shaun” Vamosi and their children Erin (Rob) Vamosi, Megan (Howard) Huss, and Nathan (Caitlyn) Vamosi, her grandchildren Noah, Scarlett and their dad Jamie Wall, Emma, Allysen, and Brenna, her sister Pamela DeMarchi, brother-in-law James Latine, niece Stacey DeMarchi, and nephews Jason DeMarchi and Dustin Swalwell. She was preceded in death by her parents Regina (Luty) and Robert Swalwell, her sister Debra Latine, and brothers Robert Swalwell Jr. and Thomas Swalwell. Kathleen graduated from Port Vue/Liberty High School in 1966 and went on to Duff’s Business School. She started her career at Duquesne University, then worked at St. Peter’s Child Development and Chee-Chee’s Resale Shop. She eventually retired in 2008 from Glenshire Woods Personal Care Home in McKeesport as business office manager. She loved her family beyond measure. She helped us all navigate life and sacrificed everything for her family. Every holiday and birthday were made special by her. She was an avid “Friends” watcher along with old movies, especially “It’s a Wonderful Life”. She and her sister Pam were die-hard Pirates’ fans, and she shared her love of the Pittsburgh Steelers with all of us. We would like to thank AHN Hospice Care, especially Christa and Leigh, who both took such great care of her and loved talking baseball with her.
