Luis Alberto Medina

Luis Alberto Medina, age 80, of McKeesport, PA, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. He was born on the Island of Puerto Rico in Ponce on August 3, 1944, and was one of seven children to the late Calixto and Simona Rivera Medina. Luis moved state side as a child with his mother, to the city of McKeesport, where eventually he met his wife, Jaqueline “Jackie” Louise Riley.

Luis is survived by sons, Luis Medina and wife, Christy; Dale Medina and wife, Liza; daughter, Cindy; grandchildren, Brennan Medina (son of David); Stephanie Melchert (daughter of Luis and Christy); Marissa Ponsonby (daughter of Luis and Christy) and her husband, Adam; Michael Rodriguez (son of Dale and Liza) and his wife Skyler, and their two children, Cameron and Josephine; Matthew Medina (son of Dale and Liza); several children belonging to his daughter Cindy; sisters, Lydia and Rosa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Luis was preceded in death by his siblings, Cruz; Carlos; Julio; and Jose Medina; along with his son David M. Medina.

Services and burial took place Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery, 1608 5th Ave, McKeesport, PA, 15132. Arrangements were cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
