Margaret Jean Lanyon

Margaret Jean Lanyon, age 79, of Lincoln Place, died on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh on November 19, 1942 and is the daughter of the late William and Margaret Halt Kennedy and the wife of the late John Daniel Lanyon, Sr., who died on January 8, 2005. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aid at UPMC Mercy for many years and was later employed at First Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh.

She is survived by sons, John Daniel (Jackie Ho) Lanyon, Jr. of Pittsburgh; William (Mandy) Lanyon of Glassport; grandchildren, Jocelyn Lanyon; Chase Lanyon; Mallory Lanyon; and sister, Lois (the late Peter) Foley of Medina, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers David Kennedy and Everett Kennedy.

Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, 740 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, PA 15034 (412-678-6192) on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
