Marian Sue Allen

October 12, 1952 — December 9, 2020

Marian Sue (Susie) Allen, of Murrysville, was a victim of the 2020 pandemic, as were so many others, sadly taken Wednesday, December 9th. Born in Pittsburgh on October 12, 1952, to Robert Morris Sr. and Reba (Sines) Allen. Marian lived in the care of Mon Yough Community Services for most of 40 years. Due to health issues, she has been under the care of Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center (RWC) for the last two.
A force of nature, Marian had a heart of gold, a strong will, and a potent right hook. She would have carried all her possessions in her backpack if only she had one large enough. Left to her own devices, she would have lived on M&Ms, hamburgers, and milkshakes. Marian had a passion for 50s rock-n-roll and country music and held a long-standing affection for Elvis, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and more recently, Blake Shelton. She could never have too many batteries on-hand to keep her CD-play turning. Affecting everyone with whom she came in contact; she will be missed.
Survived by her sister Beverly (Allen) Leatherwood and her husband John of Washington, plus two nieces Elissa Allen of Pennsylvania, Kaylee Allen of Arizona, and cousin Mary Jane Sawai and her family. Waiting beyond the gates are her father, mother, and brother Robert Allen Jr. of Ohio.
Given the world state of things, no service will be held at this time. However, when travel is once again safe, we will gather in-person by some and virtually by others to inter her cremains at Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle, PA next to her parents.
Arrangements entrusted to Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412‐678‐6177)
Our thanks also to those from Mon Yough, FamilyLinks, and Murrysville RWC who truly helped care for Marian over so many years.
