Mark Alan Swomley, age 51, of McKeesport, died on Friday, January 6, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on May 11, 1971 and is the son of the late Thomas J. and Veronica “Tootsie” Bozga Swomley. Mark was an executive chef for several restaurants in the area including, Tillies and the former Carlton. He enjoyed going on camping trips, watching the steelers, collecting various guns, and hanging out with friends at the 11th Ward Club in McKeesport. He was also a member of the NRA, the Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen’s Club, and the White Oak American Legion, General Smedley D. Butler Post 701.
He is survived by his sister, Karen (Mark) Warman-Knapp of McKeesport; nephews, Michael (Jessica) Warman of Cranberry; and Larry Knapp of Greentree; great nephew and niece, Jayden and Jaylee, and their mother, Sarah Sparks of Sewickley. Mark is also survived by his furry and faithful friend, Misty “Minnie Minnie”.
Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m., when services will be held in the funeral home chapel with Reverend William B. Meekins, Jr. officiating.
