Mary Jane Dewyer, age 93, of White Oak, died on Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born in McKeesport on January 30, 1929 and is the daughter of the late Albert Spear and Hazel Schoeller Cox and the wife of the late Robert W. Dewyer. She graduated from McKeesport High School and attended business college in McKeesport. She was employed as a secretary at USX Edgar Thompson Works for almost 35 years and also employed at USX Homestead Works and Christy Park Works for some time. She was a member of the First Christian Church in McKeesport and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Armstrong of Glenshaw; Martha Kamerer of Bethel Park; and Peggy (Jack) Murray of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by brothers, John Cox; William Cox; Roy Cox; and Alan Darrell Cox.
Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
