Mary L. Starr, who resided on Sherbine Way in White Oak for over 65 years, died on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born in Duquesne on November 13, 1921 and just turned 100 years of age. She is the daughter of the late William and Eva Bobineck Beregi and the wife of the late Francis James Starr. She was also preceded in death by her children, Donna Starr, Beverly Dahan, William “Eugene” Starr, and ten siblings. Her favorite pastime was gardening, including planting flowers and vegetables.
She is survived by son, Daniel Starr of McKeesport, PA; daughter Patricia (Ronald) Lucas of Lewistown, PA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., when services will be held in the funeral home chapel with her son-in-law, Reverend Ronald Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery in West Mifflin.
