Maxine Helen Miller, age 88, of Port Vue, PA, died on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born in Turtle Creek, PA on September 18, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Max and Elizabeth Hodgson Brickley. Maxine was a 1953 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. She was employed at Westinghouse, then EMT Service, and later as an office manager for a podiatry office. She was a member of the former Glassport Assembly of God (now River City Church AG) for over 35 years. Maxine’s interests included playing piano in her band, “Just Us”, at retirement homes, in her church, as well as participating in Vacation Bible School and Missionettes. She enjoyed archery, bowling, was an extremely talented seamstress, and made the most beautiful crafts. She also enjoyed writing children’s books.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Miller; children, Kevin (Bonnie) Hunter of Cary, IL; Kenn (Sandi) Hunter of Davenport, FL; Karen (Tom) Hunter Kohut of Claridge, PA; step-daughter, Kristine Marciesky of Port Vue, PA; grandchildren, Keene (Megan) Hunter; Karra Hunter; Christopher (Andrew) Hunter-Butler; Trevor (Karlee) Hunter; Zach (Sherry) Hunter; Alex Hunter; Mitch Hunter; Max Hunter; step-grandchildren, Alexandra Marciesky; James Miller; great-grandchildren, Christopher Wadding-Hunter; Brayden Hunter; Matthew Hunter; siblings, Laverne (the late Bud) Newell of Calera, AL; David (the late Karen) Brickley of Myrtle Beach, SC; and many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her son, Keith Hunter.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Patrick Pugh officiating. A burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
