Ronald Robert Dixon Sr.

Ronald Robert Dixon, Sr., age 88, of McKeesport, died on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on January 13, 1935 and is the son of the late Harvey E. Dixon, Sr. and Gertrude E. Lightner Dixon Roman. Ronald was employed as an auto mechanic for most of his career and later was a truck driver who delivered trailers to various states. Ronald was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved to walk, especially around the neighborhoods of McKeesport and White Oak, and would frequently visit his friends at the Corner Donut Shop in McKeesport.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth A. Taylor Dixon; children, Ronald Robert Dixon, Jr.; Cheryl Ann Lowery; Diane (Carl) Lockhart; Timothy (Heather Birmingham) Dixon; stepchildren, Richard (Kimberly) Gallagher; Brenda (Dan) Gaydos; Kevin Gallagher; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his stepson, John Gallagher; and brothers, Harvey E. Dixon, Jr.; William Dixon; Lloyd Dixon; Clifford Dixon; and Roy Dixon.

A burial took place at St. Mary’s German Cemetery in McKeesport. Arrangements were handled by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
