It is with heavy hearts of hope, we announce the peaceful journey of Suzanne Mayer of Pleasant Hills into the glorious presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 94 years of age. She was born on October 26, 1925 in DuBois, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Wilbur and Edith Smith Work. We will deeply miss her wisdom, faith, inspiration, stories, and kind welcoming arms of love for her family and others.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Mayer who died February 24, 2000 and loving mother of Rod (Mila) Mayer of Gaithersburg, Md., Allyson (Jake) Mayer Plisco of Pleasant Hills, Pa., and Brad Mayer, Windsor, Ont. Loving grandmother to Kenneth Plisco, Carmella Plisco, Bethany (Jeff) Bulmer, Rebekah Mayer and Micah Mayer. Great-grandmother to Noah, Jonah, Haven and Arlo James. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Mayer.
Sue loved playing cards, music, the churches she attended and her family. We will be missing her with all our hearts until we meet again in glory.
Services were held at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin Inc. 740 Pittsburgh McKeesport Blvd, Dravosburg, PA 15034 (412-678-6192). Entombment was held at Lebanon Chapel Mausoleum of West Mifflin on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. A memorial, in celebration of Suzanne’s life, will take place later in the year.
