William Benick, age 89, of McKeesport, died on Friday, September 27, 2019. He was born in McKeesport on December 19, 1929 and is the son of the late George and Rose Lechak Benick. He served in the Navy on the U.S. Destroyer, “The Fred T. Berry”, during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a safety director from Enamel Products and Plating and served as the union president. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Melville of Eighty Four, PA; Doreen (Arthur) Wray of North Versailles; son, James (Diane) Benick of Churchill; sister, Margaret Evans of Rosemeade, CA; grandchildren, Justin (Candace) Wray; Matthew (Lori) Benick; Lindsay (Zach) Olshenske; Noah Melville; Luke Melville; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Wray; Hudson Wray; Willow Benick; Rowan Benick; and Weston Olshenske. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Doris L. Benick; brothers, John; Albert; and Edward Benick; and sisters, Elizabeth McCusker; Ann Francis; and Rose Mihalo.
